The Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards kicked off in Manila this morning when the Creative jury met to decide this year’s award winners.
The Tambuli Awards recognise creative and effective brands with purpose. Creativity + Brand Purpose + Results. The bias of the awards is towards mainstream brand communication, not CSR, not advocacy, not ads for good, even if these campaigns are welcome to enter.
Purpose is judged as values espoused by a brand that defines what a brand stands for and why it exists, portrayed in brand advertising messages such as an upright attitude, behaviour, situation, skill, or relationship, that make or change the life of a person, family, or society for the better.
The Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards is an award show that began in Manila in 2005 and opened to the Asia Pacific region in 2012.
The Creative Jury is lead by Josy Paul Chairman and CCO at BBDO India and includes Chee Keong “CK” Tan, ex-Amber China; Joey Tiempo, Octopus&Whale Philippines; Kazoo Sato, TBWA\Hakuhodo Japan; Raoul Panes, Leo Burnett Manila; Eric Cruz, AKQA Shanghai; Jay Morgan, The Monkeys Sydney; Rajay Singh, Directors Think Tank; Mike Sicam, Ogilvy Philippines; and Phil Van Bruchem, BWM Melbourne.
