Four Talents From Singapore Win A Trip to Margaret River Western Australia to Create Content During Wine Harvest Season

Four Singapore-based content creators will pack their bags and head to Margaret River in Western Australia in March for the Emergence Creative Festival, an annual gathering for the international creative industry, and to capture the beauty of the famed wine region during harvest season.

This is the first time a competition has been held to bring content talents from Singapore to the Margaret River region. They will share their ideas and works with Australian and international Festival delegates – further fostering relations between Singapore, Australia, and the world – while participating in immersive experiences in the wine region that will inspire their content creation.

An open call and interviews were held in January when the Festival co-directors were in Singapore to promote the Festival and the Margaret River region. The four content creators selected are:

The four represent different media formats that reflect their creative styles. Their creations will be promoted on their social media and digital platforms and on various Margaret River digital platforms. An exhibition of their works inspired by their visit is planned in Singapore for later in the year.

In a joint statement, the four talents said, “We are excited to participate at the Emergence Creative Festival and for this honour to capture the wine-making process and the famed beauty of the Margaret River region. We’ve seen many photos and heard so much about Margaret River. We hope others in Singapore will be inspired to visit the Margaret River region when they see our works.”

Emergence Creative Festival Director Brianna Delaporte said,“We are thrilled to host the winning Singapore talents at Emergence this March. With close proximity, the same time zone, and thriving creative hubs in both Singapore and Western Australia, the team at Emergence want to foster the connection between the two places and create opportunities for work with each other and to collaborate.”

Singapore is a key market for the Margaret River region, which is located three hours by car from Perth, Western Australia. More than 23,000 travellers from Singapore visit Margaret River each year, making it the region’s second biggest international visitor market after the United Kingdom. Singapore is also ranked third in the Margaret River region’s wine export market by volume and value – after China and the United States.

Testament to its diversity of quality experiences and landscapes, Margaret River and Southern WA were named the number one travel destination in Asia Pacific in 2019 by global travel authority, Lonely Planet.

The seventh instalment of Emergence Creative Festival with the theme ‘Human Connection in a Post-Digital World’ attracts marketers, content makers, innovators, futurists, leaders and artists across music, film, advertising, photography, digital, experiential and visual arts, who collaborate and share knowledge, inspiration and industry insights.

Leading this year’s speaker list are Dave Bowman, Google Zoo’s Chief Creative for Asia Pacific; Kyo Seo, Head of Facebook Creative Shop, Korea; Dr. Pippa Dickson, Director of Asialink Arts; and Charu Menon, Executive Producer at Heckler Singapore.

The Emergence Creative Festival is supported by Access Asia Business Grants. This talent visit is supported by the Australian Government’s International Wine Tourism Grant (administered by Wine Australia), Margaret River Wine Association, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, South West Development Commission, and Australia’s South West.
