Directors Think Tank launches in-house post-production arm – DTT Post

Malaysian production company Directors Think Tank (DTT) has opened its own post-production arm, DTT Post, to bring the entire post-production process in-house. Since opening in mid-June, the team of 15 handles the full of spectrum of post-production facilities including editing, colour grading, motion graphics design, and compositing on two Flames.

From its initial conceptualisation, DTT Post’s vision was to elevate the quality of the work by DTT’s directors. Co-founder and director Maurice Noone said: “Usually everyone expects the post house to be at the back end of the supply chain. They are usually brought into the project at the very last stage, which is a shame. We are firm believers that from the get-go, there is so much value they can add to take the work to the next level.”

Noone continued, “We all know collaborative projects deliver stronger results. By bringing the post-production process in-house, we are able to maximise our resources and start planning early right from the directors shoot board stage. Having our own post team also allows us to carry out pre-visualsations from the word go!”

The DTT Post team comprises of a mix of senior level post-production artists and fresh graduates from local universities. Currently the team of 15 is led by one senior producer managing the full post-production process with two senior Flame artists and one senior rotoscopy artist.

“We assembled our very own dynamic team, bringing together experienced and seasoned online artists with young and eager talents. It was an incredible and challenging journey; reinventing traditional processes with fresh new ways of doing things. Our team is not constrained by conventions and dares to try different approaches to post-production. I’m incredibly proud of the team we have put together as DTT truly believes in nurturing upcoming talents,” said Rajay Singh, DTT co-founder and director.

DTT’s Executive Producer Sivagamy Jeeva said: “I enjoy new challenges and the difficulties every project entails. My forte has always been managing a team and keeping them constantly motivated, encouraging new ideas, technics and to always be ready to embark onto new challenges. It’s truly quite marvelous to be part of a talented team of directors and producers working together to learn and to make good looking film.”

Since opening in mid-June, DTT Post has completed 40 projects including work for Nescafe, Coca Cola, Coway, Milo, Anmum, and many more. The team are also in the midst of finalising an animated short film project.
