Spikes Asia 2021: Who were Asia’s top agency performers?

With Australian agencies dominating the award results at Spikes Asia 2021, and New Zealand also doing exceptionally well, it’s hard for the agencies and networks in Asia to get a handle on how they performed at the Festival this year. So to highlight the great performers at Spikes Asia from Asia this year we tabulated each Asian country’s performance below.

Australian and New Zealand agencies took home 133 of the 293 awards handed out this year at Spikes Asia. As a stark example of the dominance and influence of Australia and New Zealand this year, BBDO was named #2 Network of the Year at the Festival, however this is entirely due to the BBDO network’s agency award wins from Australia and New Zealand, with CHE Proximity Melbourne and Colenso BBDO both the stand out performers.

The top performers in Asia, who shared 160 awards, are tabulated below. These tables use the “Olympic Games” methodology headed by the number of Grand Prix (GP) awards, followed by Golds, Silvers and then Bronzes.

Dentsu Tokyo is again the top performer with 3 Grand Prix, 2 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze awards.

Great to see the agencies that have being trying hard for the past few years featuring in the Top 5 – like Wunderman Thompson Bangkok ranked at #2 and FCB India and Wolf Bangkok at #3 and #4 respectively.

Worthy of note is the performance of Malaysia with Ensemble/Directors Think Tank and GREY Malaysia doing very well. Ogilvy Pakistan also deserve special mention for their 1 Gold and 2 Bronze performance.
