Four senior hires at BBH China including Colin Lee as Executive Creative Director

BBH China has bolstered their leadership to reinforce its creative and planning strength as well as spearhead client management. The new appointments include Colin Lee as Executive Creative Director, Summer Yang as Senior Planning Director, Tony Wang as Senior Account Director and Circle Lee as Group Account Director.

 

The new hires reinforce the agencies commitment to further build the BBH brand globally, and the critical role that creativity plays within Publicis Groupe’s client offering in China.

Colin Lee (pictured left) is a multidisciplinary thinking creative with a strong background in graphic, brand and integrated campaign communications. He is known for consistently drafting his creative blueprint using the power of logic and his ‘magic’. He comes with nearly 10 years of leading notable campaigns as ECD, for brands such as Adidas, Originals, Coke, Shiseido, and Volvo. He won numerous awards at both local and international creative festivals such as Cannes, Clio, London International, One Show, Effie, Adfest, AMEs and the China 4As.

“Not being a stranger to the ‘barn’, a place I consider as my creative academy, I will lead the MINI account with a team of dynamic talents to drive this iconic brand forward. I will also be leaning on my love for arts, design, pop culture, fitness, and a keen sense of adventure to find new creative grounds for the brand. Above all, keeping to the maxim that When The World Zigs, Zag.” added Colin.

Yang (pictured middle left) focuses on steering all outputs on key clients to be both creative and effective. She joined BBH after leaving TBWA / Media Arts Lab, where she worked as Senior Planning Director – while she was leading the social planning team, she oversaw the strategic development of Apple’s overall social presence in China. She was also the strategy lead for Apple China’s iPhone business, overseeing both localization and origination initiatives.

I was given a BBH swag bag years ago when I first started my career as a marketer, and I was drawn to the slogan written on the bag ‘When The World Zigs, We Zag’. The bag travelled with me to many different places over the years, and that line has become my motto and has kept me going. I’m so glad I’m now part of BBH – I’m looking forward to new great experiences with its amazing team.” Yang said.

In response to continued business growth and to greatly enhance client management and servicing, Wang (pictured middle right) will focus on leading Auto and Gaming clients in BBH. He joined the industry nearly 10 years ago, staying 4 years in Singapore, where he majored in International Business & Marketing and mingled with people from all over the world. His client list includes Audi, ABInbev, Envision Energy, Mengniu, Filorga, Burberry, NIVEA, IKEA, and Durex.

Wang said: “It’s great to be back to this big family and to work on fun brands – they fuel my passion. Even though we are going through a difficult time, the BIG LOVE from brands needs to be warmly voiced out and to touch people’s hearts.”

Circle Lee (pictured right) is experienced in helping global brands land in the local market. She will manage the consumer experience of clients and take care of their leasing and financing businesses. Before she joined BBH, she handled MNC clients in other 4A agencies for a few years. Her career started in Leo Burnett (which is also part of Publicis Groupe) and her client list includes Nestlé, Unilever, Mondelez, Kimberly-Clark, Pernod Ricard, Tiffany, KFC, Volvo, McDonald’s, and Coca-Cola.

They are all based in Shanghai. Colin Lee reports to Kelly Pon, Chief Creative Officer of BBH China; Summer Yang reports to Siyuan Aw, Chief Strategy Officer of BBH China; and Tony Wang and Circle Lee report directly to Joanne Liu, Managing Director of BBH China.
