Bob Scarpelli to head Cannes Titanium and Integrated jury. Tham Khai Meng to also judge
The Cannes Lions Titanium and Integrated Jury, which awards breakthrough ideas and the best integrated campaigns, will be chaired this year by Bob Scarpelli, DDB Worldwide’s Chairman and Chief Creative Officer. The jury will also include Tham Khai Meng, Ogilvy’s Worldwide ECD, who previously was Regional ECD of Ogilvy in Asia.
In his 33-year career at DDB, Scarpelli has created some of the most iconic, talked-about and awarded creative work in the world. He is such a passionate believer in “Talk Value®” that he trademarked the term and made it part of the fabric of the agency. Inspiring ideas and creative business solutions that transcend advertising to become part of popular culture are at the heart of Scarpelli’s vision for his clients and for DDB, where the core belief is that creativity is the most powerful force in business.
Scarpelli has served as the President of both the Cannes Lions Film and Press juries in 2007 as well as chairing other main international shows.
“The Titanium and Integrated category at Cannes Lions has become the most important bellwether of the industry, and I am delighted to welcome Bob back to Cannes where he will lead a genuinely outstanding international jury. Scarpelli’s passionate belief in creativity, and his unerring eye for the direction in which this industry is heading, will no doubt unearth again the world’s most innovative creative thinking,” says Philip Thomas, CEO of the Festival.
Commenting on his role, Scarpelli said, “Attacking our clients’ business issues in innovative and effective ways is critical to the future of the communications industry. We must use all the tools available to us today and invent new ones when necessary. The Titanium and Integrated Lions were created to honour that kind of breakthrough thinking. We will reaffirm that commitment in Cannes this year.”

Titanium & Integrated Category is impossible to scam in, unless the agency is nuts…so IMO good category for TKM.
Ogilvy may big win for this year again…
