Debby Chang to GM role at Neo@Ogilvy
Debby Chang is returning to the Ogilvy Group as General Manager, Neo@Ogilvy Shanghai, a newly created position aimed at strengthening the leadership team in China and coinciding with the expansion of Neo@Ogilvy’s operations in Shanghai which will serve as a hub for performance marketing in China.
As General Manager, Chang’s new role will see her putting her more than 20 years of digital and traditional media experience to work. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of Neo@Ogilvy’s Shanghai business and staff, Chang will focus on developing and leading global clients such as UPS and Inter Continental Hotels Group, as well as several local clients and multinational brands such as VF Corporation.
Prior to her homecoming to Ogilvy, Chang previously held the position of Media Group Head at Ogilvy & Mather and Mindshare in Taipei from 1996-1999, where she supervised media execution and buying strategies for a wide range of clients. Chang was also one of the early starters atwwwins where she was Communication Planning Director, responsible for leading internet marketing programs for clients.
Chang will report to Peony Wu, Managing Director, Neo@Ogilvy Greater China, and Chief Digital Officer, Ogilvy & Mather China.
Commenting on Chang’s appointment Wu said, “Clients today require an in-depth understanding of consumers’ media consumption habits and they need help identifying the most suitable and effective mix of channels. Now Debby’s mission is to raise the bar even further, and we have no doubt that her wealth of experience in media will prove highly valuable and relevant in building our Performance Marketing practice where performance media and search engine marketing come into play.”

Agencies in China been trying to get good talent. Ogilvy is just trying to get Taiwanese, or family members.
