MichaelLee.jpgMichael Lee has been appointed to the post of Managing Director for Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai, replacing Jenny Low. Lee brings with him over 20 years agency experience in Australia, Hong Kong and China – including 10 years with Ogilvy in China where he was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Ogilvy Shanghai and Southern China, and most recently was President of Strategic Development for Ogilvy Greater China. He left Ogilvy in 2010 to start his own fashion business.

“That we can attract talent like Michael to Saatchi & Saatchi is a testament to the momentum we are enjoying in Shanghai and the family of talent and client partners that we are building.” Commented Justin Billingsley, CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Greater China. “Success in our business comes down to three things: talent, talent and talent.”

“Jenny informed us a few months ago about her decision to leave China after almost 14 years here  – the past 6 with Saatchi & Saatchi. Jenny has played a critical leadership role in building our Shanghai operations since her appointment as Managing Director in early 2010 and prior to that in range of account leadership role. During this time she has shown not only a commitment to growing our clients businesses but investing in talent in the agency. Jenny was part of the team that won the first Asia-Pacific Gold Effie for Nippon Paint in 2008,” said Billingsley.

Low commented, “I am very proud of my team and what we have achieved at Saatchi & Saatchi Shanghai. It’s great for our clients and our people that we have arranged such a smooth transition to a new leader.”

Lee said: “I have been really impressed with the team at Saatchi and am looking forward to getting started. There is a really impressive roster in Shanghai and I’m looking forward to learning more about how we can help their business.”
