New senior hires for Leo Burnett Shanghai
Leo Burnett Shanghai has made two senior appointments to its management team, naming Stefan Petzinger as General Manager – Multinationals, and Johan Ostlund, Chief Planning Officer.
Petzinger (left) joins the agency from DDB where he most recently held a global role directing the Volkswagen account across more than 30 markets. Through his work with German hot shop Jung von Matt, BBDO New York, Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam and StrawberryFrog, on brands including BMW, Coke Light, Heineken and Nike, Petzinger has built a reputation as an industry heavyweight.
He takes on a newly created role at Leo Burnett Shanghai, with responsibility for overseeing the agency’s roster of multinational clients and for building new business.
In a second new hire announced by Leo Burnett Shanghai today, Johan Ostlund heads up planning duties at the agency. Another recruit from DDB, Johan Ostlund has an outstanding track record in planning and brand strategy. He most recently held the role of Behavioural Planning Director in Tokyo where he led the planning on all international accounts, including Volkswagen, Lipton, Reebok and Nikon.
Among the talents Ostlund (left) brings to the planning role is an in-depth understanding of the McDonald’s account, with five year’s experience with the brand in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Wei Wei Chen, Chairman and CEO of Leo Burnett Shanghai, said: “Leo Burnett Shanghai is lucky to have a stable of long-term, multinational clients that we’ve grown and developed with. I’m thrilled that a business leader like Stefan will be able to help those brands find even greater success.”
