Aaron Phua joins New York hot-shop Johannes Leonardo as a creative director
Aaron Phua has joined Johannes Leonardo in New York as a creative director.
A Singapore native, Phua spent almost 5 years with Fallon Singapore and Hong Kong working on United Airlines, Volkswagen, Timberland and Citibank, prior to a stint at TBWA Singapore, during which time the agency took the coveted Singapore Airlines account off Batey.
Phua then moved on to join Wieden + Kennedy in Shanghai and worked on Nike, Converse, Nokia and Heineken accounts, with the latter brands giving him short stints at Wieden + Kennedy’s London and Amsterdam office respectively.
He also did a session with BBH Shanghai before this move to New York.
Phua is no stranger to awards with success at One Show, D&AD, Cannes, Communication Arts, ADC, Young Guns, Adfest, Spikes, Creative Circle and The Work.
Johannes Leonardo itself boosts award powerhouse in it’s co-founders, Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico. The agency has been named Small Agency of the Year, Overall Silver by Advertising Age and Creativity. Most recently, the agency took home three prestigious Cannes Lions for its work with Google, building off the success of its early award-winning work for Google, Nomis and Daffy’s.
Johannes Leonardo’s current rooster also consist of Coca-Cola, Chanel and Bacardi, to name a few.
