Pizza Hut gets New Year started on time

PizzaHut.jpgBBDO Guerrero has created a new campaign for Pizza Hut aimed at getting every Filipino’s time in sync with Philippine Standard Time (PST). The effort is part of Pizza Hut’s long-running “Hate Late” campaign anchored on its commitment to on-time delivery. The “Juan Time” initiative is launched in conjunction with the Department Of Science And Technology (DOST) and Discovery Channel.

DOST have already launched their “Juan Time” campaign for synchronizing time and this will give the initiative new impetus.

The integrated campaign kicked off with a one-off event on the 30th December at the Smart Araneta Coliseum which contained a “Pre-Countdown Countdown” as a practice run for the real thing on New Year’s Eve.

A tweeting clock was also set up by Pizza Hut so people could follow the events as they unfolded and synchronise their time to the Philippine atomic clock.

The campaign will be further supported by press and radio executions to reinforce Pizza Hut’s “Hate Late” connection with the “Juan Time” initiative.

David Guerrero, Chairman and CCO of BBDO Guerrero, said, “There always seems to be a 20 minute window for New Year celebrations. So we thought it would be good if we can all agree to start 2012 on time. After all, if you’re late at the start of the year, what’s going to happen during the rest of it? It’s also an ideal occasion to remind people of Pizza Hut’s punctuality. And what better New Year’s resolution than to start the year on time”.
