Jody Xiong joins Leo Burnett Shanghai
Leo Burnett Shanghai has appointed Jody Xiong as Group Creative Director. Xiong will be in charge of A.O Smith, Robitussin and Volvo and other clients reporting directly to Executive Creative Directors Amanda Yan and Gordon Hughes.
Xiong (left) is a shining local creative star in mainland China. With over 15 years of experience in 4A agencies, his client list includes Buick, Volkswagen, Unilever, Dove, GQ, Lufthansa Airline, IKEA, Tsing Tao Beer, Pepsi, Yahoo, McDonald’s, Phillips and other well-known international and local brands.
In the past 5 years Xiong has created several popular and award-winning cases. Jody’s “Green Pedestrian Crossing” campaign for the China Environmental Protection Foundation, which attracted the attention and participation of deputy mayor of Shanghai and over ten thousand Shanghai citizens won China’s second ever Gold Lion at Cannes. This campaign also won two Grand Prixes at ADFEST and the UK Green Awards. Furthermore, it was ranked among the top 15 most awarded posters in the world by The Gunn Report. Xiong’s fully integrated campaign for McDonald’s “Cheer for China” in 2008, created a national craze, the website attracted 27 million visitors and the campaign was chosen by Contagious magazine as one of the “Most Contagious Viral Campaigns of 2008.” The campaign also won Best of the Best at the 2009 MAA Globes Awards and a Gold Effie.
