Lee transfers from his chief creative officer role at McCann Worldgroup in Thailand, a position he held for four years. He is replacing Carol Lam who is leaving the agency next month.

Lee (left) will be responsible for strengthening and driving creative excellence across the Shanghai Group’s client list. During his tenure in Thailand, Lee was responsible for boosting the agency’s international and local creative reputation, winning Cannes Lions, and awards at Spikes Clios, D&AD, The Work and LIAA. In 2011, McCann won the Best Film at the local Adman Awards and the Best Outdoor at the Bangkok Art Director’s Club (BAD Awards). He will be based in Shanghai and resume responsibilities mid-September.

Said Jesse Lin, CEO, McCann Worldgroup Greater China: “Martin’s proven track record for elevating the creative product and building depth of expertise will strengthen our positioning as we strive for creative excellence across all aspects of our operation. With Martin now in place, and we continue drive our aggressive transformation, we’re in a much stronger position to meet our ambitious growth strategies in this high priority market for us.”

Lee’s ability to grow, mentor and nurture his peers has led to the appointment of Santi Suwanvalaikorn and Supachai Toemtechatpong as Co-ECD’s roles at McCann Worldgroup Thailand.

In April, McCann Worldgroup announced the appointment of Jesse Lin to the role of chief executive officer, McCann Worldgroup Greater China. Joining him is Ellen Hou, China’s top performing planning and culture director from TBWA; David Shen, chief executive officer, McCann Health Greater China and Cia Hatzi, regional business director.
