Ex Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore creative team land senior creative roles at Fred & Farid Paris
Gian Carlo Lanfranco and Rolando Cordova, who spent two years in Singapore with Saatchi & Saatchi, have joined French hot shop Fred & Farid as senior creatives.
The Peruvian duo started their career at Saatchi & Saatchi Peru, where they won the first ever Future Lions in Cannes. Then they moved to Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore working with Andy Greenaway, Juggi Ramakrishnan and Michael Rebelo, on clients like Guinness, Sony Ericsson and P&G.
After two years in Singapore they moved to Amsterdam to work at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, where they created global digital work for Coca-Cola.
After a few years at W+K, they packed their bags and changed neighborhoods to join Bsur Amsterdam, working for former Singapore CD Jason Schragger, where they were the leading team on the global MINI account. There, they were responsible for the global launch of the MINI Countryman and The MINI Coupe. Great news for two great guys!
How many great creative names made it out there en route Singapore?
Neil French, Dave Droga, Ted Royer, Craig Davis, Matt Keon, Andy Fackrell, Kash Sree, Tham Kai Meng, Andrew McKechnie, Yang Yeo, Robert Kleman, Stuart Harricks, Jason Schragger, Karl Dunn, who else?
How about Mike ‘I know ads’ Fromowitz?
How about Matt Eastwood now DDB NY CCO.
Someone should do a ‘where are they now?’ feature on some of the names mentioned above. I think the results will be interesting. While there are some great success stories, there are also more than a few who ‘made it’ in Singapore just on scam and got found out once they ventured into deeper waters.
how does one judge if someone has ‘made it’? salary? awards? respect?
No need to do up a list of shame.
In their hearts, they know who they are.
Stuck in some ‘going-nowhere second-rate agency in a third-rate ad city where English isn’t the main language’.
And those are the lucky ones who still draw a paycheck, but smaller than what they did in Sg.
The less lucky one are still peddling their book of greatest hits, living on past scammy glories…
Respect…there’s none in advertising, only fear.
Awards….sadly that ends once the agency/CCO has extracted every bit of fame you are capable of bringing them and then tossing you aside.
Salary…yes, that might be a good gauge..
Fools. Those who made it are world beaters. They are ones who are currently creative directing or running some of the best agencies in USA, UK and some parts of europe. These are still the first rate cities for our industry especially and for them to be able to influence there is a big deal. En route Singapore elevates this little city somehow.
They also fear that their co-workers have no respect for them because their history of failure follows them on websites like these.
To make themselves feel better and relevant, they pump out ad tweets to ‘friends’ who are just as crap at their jobs.
But they know the slide has begun.
No way are they ever gonna get the cushy jobs they once lost in Singapore.
And sometimes, they come back to ‘visit’ Singapore and their folowers gather around in bars and toast them. Then they go back to Laos or Albania or wherever
Where’s Robert Kleman and what’s he up to?
Respect guys you’re on your way to the top! bittered people talking here, jealousy?
Whats with all you people being so negative!!
All Those names mentioned have been great for Singapore and for advertising– and for leading the way. They also helped to grow many young creative people.
Of course they all moved on to other things- bigger jobs, their own shops…
Some of you sound so jealous and nasty! Perhaps some of you were fired bu these people and are now finding it easy to be nasty and remain ever so anonymous.
You also probably never made a good ad in all your lives.
Bitter is good for you. Bitter cure you. Sweet make you fat and lazy.
BTW, where this Andy Greenaway now….and Craig Smith?
These two Peru boy do nice things…I like…real work to sell real car. And Mini not cheap also.
Colin Jeffery formerly Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore now ECD of David Goliath is also one of the few killing it in the top global scene.
