Spencer Wong elected new chairman for HK4As
Members of the HK4As (The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong) has elected Spencer Wong (pictured centre) as its Chairman. Wong is the incumbent Vice Chairman and replaces Sue McCusker, (right) with the support of a Committee made up of Dennis Lam, Melanie Lo, Sue McCusker, Danny Mok (right) and Ray Wong.
Wong is famous for producing innovative, integrated and interactive campaigns, which put Hong Kong’s advertising creativity on par with the world. He has a clear vision on the role and further development of HK4As as he pledges in his Manifesto that “since we are living in a fast-paced and results-oriented society, advertising has been increasingly valued on its market effectiveness. As a significant leading role in the industry, it is crucial for HK4As to develop a substantial and effective year plan of various Working Committees to reach valuable and effective results. In order to move forward and contribute to Hong Kong’s creative industry, HK4As will enhance the education opportunities for our members, students and the public by providing HK4As AdSchool and educational initiatives”.
Wong also marked outgoing Chairman Sue McCusker for her efforts in reinforcing HK4As’ development and its influence in the creative industry over the last period. “I also look forward to working with all 4As Members, together in enhancing the standards of creativities and effectiveness, and building a more brilliant future of the advertising industry”, the new Chairman added.
Spencer is currently the Managing Director and Chief Creative Officer of McCann Worldgroup (Hong Kong). The Vice Chairman post is vacant for the time being and is believed will be installed by selecting internally among the ExComm Members.
Having fulfilled her 2-year term as the Chairlady of HK4As, Sue McCusker, CEO of Publicis Worldwide (HK), will continue her role as Executive Committee Member as an ex-Officio, with the joining of Dennis Lam, Business Director of JWT, Melanie Lo, CEO of Mindshare Hong Kong, Danny Mok, Chief Executive Officer of Grey Hong Kong, and Ray Wong, CEO of PHD.
