HACKERS2.jpgThe event is part of a broader BBH initiative – the BBH MakerLab – to foster collaboration between technology companies, brands and the creative and digital community to develop physical and virtual products with potential for market success. The Coca-Cola Company has committed to invest a minimum of S$20,000 towards the development of the winning prototype from the hackathon into a working product.

The hackathon saw a collection of students, designers, mobile game and app developers, hackers, tinkerers and creative minds in general register for the event held at BBH offices on Magazine Road.

HACKERS1.jpgParticipants were given a brief by BBH and Coca Cola to come up with playful, inspiring and usable mobile-based concepts and prototypes using one of a kind open source tools and data provided by Gingee Games. Gingee Games are creators of Gamologee IDE!,  a premier development platform that is unmatched in giving mobile and social app developers the ability to develop cross platform apps for all major platforms and devices at record speed.

Participants were given a year’s subscription to Gameologee IDE! as well as hands on training and support throughout the weekend.

Said David Webster, Managing Parter, BBH AP: “The fact that participants could walk through our doors on a Friday and walk out on a Sunday with an opportunity to launch a technology project with a brand like Coca Cola is remarkable.  By connecting technology companies, brands and creators with real business challenges, we believe the BBH MakerLab is a unique first step towards fostering true collaboration at a grass roots level. “

The winning prototype from the hackathon will be revealed by BBH MakerLab and Coca Cola in the coming weeks.
