DDB Singapore, Lowe & Partners India + Bascule Japan each win Gold in Cannes Mobile Lions
The Mobile Lions proved to be a golden category for Asia with Gold Lions being awarded to DDB Group Singapore, Lowe & Partners Mumbai and Bascule Inc. Tokyo. Asia only had 9 shortlists in this category and 7 of them have goon on to win Lions. Asia was rewarded with 3 Golds, 3 Silvers and 1 Bronze.
In total 12 Gold Lions were awarded in Mobile. 18 Silver and 24 Bronze Lions were also handed out.
DDB Singapore won a Gold Lion for ‘Offline Book’ for Math Paper Press, Bascule Tokyo picked up a Gold Lion for ‘Bloody Tube’ and Lowe & Partners Worldwide Mumbai were awarded a Gold Lion for ‘The Kan Khajura Station’ for Unilever.
Silver Lions were awarded to JWT Singapore for ‘The Guardian Angel’ for the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), for their personal safety accessory line. Ogilvy & Mather Singapore also collected a Silver for SingTel’s ‘Movie Emoji’, as did BBDO Proximity Thailand for ‘Hairtagproject’ for The Lounge Hair Salon.
BBDO Guerrero Manila collected a Bronze Lion for their ‘Unselfie’ for the Typhoon Yolanda Appeal.
The only shortlist from Asia not to convert to a Lion (Guardian Angel was shortlisted twice) was CJWORK Bangkok’s “Blood of Hope” for mobile network Advanced Info Service.
The Mobile Grand Prix went to the clever Nivea Sun Kids ‘Protection Ad’ from FCB Brasil. The mobile jury, chaired by Jaime Robinson, Executive Creative Director, Pereira & O’Dell arrived at a shortlist of 116 from an initial 1187 entries. After discussions they chose to give present 11 gold, 18 silver and 24 bronze awards.
