Nicky Lim joins Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia
Nicky Lim is to join the country management team of Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia as Chief Operating Officer. Lim, whose 20 year career in advertising made him an alumnus of McCann and Grey among others, was most recently the Southeast Asia Director for Geometry Global.
Nicky Lim will join Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia, which consists of 340 people working across nine brands on March 23 2015, reporting to Margaret Lim, Chief Executive Officer for the network in Malaysia. Nicky’s addition to the management team in Malaysia comes as part of the country CEO succession planning, with Margaret Lim moving into a senior advisory role for the network in Malaysia after a considerable transition period.
Margaret Lim’s career spanned more than 40 years. She joined Aegis Media in 1998 and she has since played a pivotal role in its growth of the group from one company, Carat, to include Vizeum, Posterscope, Isobar, and iProspect. In July 2014 she was asked to lead the newly formed Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia. Commenting on this announcement, Margaret Lim shared, “I’m thrilled to have a leader like Nicky join us. I’m looking forward to guiding him in his new role as part of my succession planning.”
Nicky Lim added, “Dentsu Aegis Network has been one of the most vibrant and ambitious forces in Malaysian advertising – in both creative and media. I’m excited to join them in their mission to innovate the way brands are built.”
“Now that the integration of Dentsu and Aegis into Dentsu Aegis Network has been successfully completed, it’s time to further unlock the potential of this combination and drive growth, especially in a key market like Malaysia which has enjoyed steady leadership under industry veteran Margaret Lim. With the addition of Nicky Lim to the leadership team we will add the right mix of complementary experience and energy to accelerate further. I expect quite a bit of magic of the combination of Lim and Lim,” said Dick van Motman, Chairman and CEO for Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia.
