BBDO Japan and Mars Petcare launch online phodographer campaign for national smile day
BBDO Japan have released an online film for National Smile Day in Japan for Mars Petcare.
The film features owners talking about their love for their dogs and how they feel like one of the family. At a photography portrait shoot they are then surprised to see that it is their own dogs racing up a specially built gantry taking photos. Naturally the smiles are huge at this guest photographer and the results are seen at the end of the film.
The premise is simple – owners love taking photos of their dogs and just looking at them makes their owners smile. Imagine how big the smile would be if the tables were turned and their own dog took the pictures.
The film was created in order to demonstrate Mars Petcare’s real understanding of the relationship between pets and their owners. Mars has been a leading petcare company in Japan for many years with brands such as Pedigree, Cesar, Kal Kan (Whiskas), Sheba, and has recently acquired Iams from Procter & Gamble.
The film was created by BBDO Japan and produced by Niban Kobo.
Masaki Honda, ECD of BBDO Japan, said, “Dog ownership is, sadly, decreasing year-on-year and we hoped that this film can illustrate how having a dog can enrich lives”.
Tony Harris, Chief Executive at BBDO Japan, added, “Certainly dogs taking photographs is not something you see every day; but even those who don’t feel close to pets can understand the joy their owners feel”.
