David Haddad 2 (1).jpgUM Sydney general manager David Haddad is being promoted to a significant position in Asia Pacific, with his appointment to be the new managing director of IPG Mediabrands Singapore. Haddad replaces Pat Lim, CEO of IPG Mediabrands Singapore, who has decided to look for new career opportunities after effecting a transition period with Haddad.

Ross Raeburn, CEO of UM Australia, said Haddad’s promotion was a well-deserved opportunity.

Says Raeburn: “We have discussed this move with Dave for quite some time. We are very enthusiastic about his ascendency to the Mediabrands’ Singapore leadership role as he is a highly respected, popular client and agency-team leader.”

Haddad has a 14-year career in developing integrated communications platforms for clients. He has been general manager of UM Sydney for the past two years and has been a team member in the agency’s big new-business wins, including major beverage marketer Lion, Virgin Mobile and Optus.

Adds Raeburn: “We will consider the Sydney GM role as part of our 2017 plans. We have strong momentum and management strength in our client/agency relationships and many clear opportunities to embrace.”

IPG Mediabrands clients in Singapore include Johnson & Johnson, Exxon Mobil and Cerebos who work with media agencies UM and Initiative. As well as the two media agencies, Mediabrands Singapore has full access to the integrated skill sets of IPG Mediabrands worldwide, whose resources are well known to Haddad.

Says Haddad: “The opportunity to lead the Singapore business is the highlight of my career. I am delighted to be taking the new role and very keen to meet our clients, agency teams and media partners. To live in Singapore and be part of the continually surging Asia consumer and business environment is truly exciting.”
