Graham Hitchmough.jpgThis week marks a significant milestone for Singapore-based independent branding network Bonsey Design. In addition to celebrating its landmark quarter of a century in operation, the regional branding and design agency has added Graham Hitchmough (pictured left) to its management team as Regional Chief Operations Officer.

Jonathan Bonsey, Chief Executive and Creative Officer has developed the business on a regional basis since 1993. Having established a powerful reputation in FMCG and consumer branding, in recent years Bonsey Design has also developed signature Service Branding programmes for Maybank, POS Malaysia, Cebu Pacific, FGV, Unionbank and Mediacorp. In 2014 Bonsey Design forged a partnership with Sydney-based digital agency The Jaden Group, to create Bonsey Jaden, now one of the leading regional independent digital agencies and the last four years have seen the two businesses collaborate and grow with increasing potency across the region.

Jonathan Bonsey.jpg“We set out to provide our client’s customers with seamless, integrated brand experiences both online and offline. As a result our digital business has doubled in size every year as the combination of powerful digital strategy married to insightful brand design makes a real difference to our more ambitious clients. Bringing Graham onboard will add depth and strength to our strategy and design team and support the integrated service offer, said Bonsey (pictured left). “Graham’s talent and expertise will be of enormous value to our clients and with his help we will really be able to make an impact on their brands’ performance”.

Hitchmough has been in Asia Pacific for over twelve years and based in Singapore for the last decade. He was most recently CEO for Brand Union in Asia Pacific and prior to that held a number of senior roles with brand consultancies advertising agencies and corporates in Bangkok and London. In his new role Hitchmough will be able to apply his extensive experience of the regional marketplace to augment the existing management team of Bonsey Design and its partner Bonsey Jaden: developing strategies for growth, collaboration, service development and client delivery across the businesses’ markets of operation and extending areas of expertise.

Hitchmough said, “Anyone who has been involved in the branding industry in this region over the last couple of decades will have heard of and have great respect for the Bonsey name.  But what has really excited and attracted me is the drive to constantly reinvent, recalibrate and reorient the business to better meet client needs, to get the very best out of our talent and to act as a magnet for fresh talent and ideas.  Every network in town might talk a good game on agility and integration, but it’s a very different thing putting it effectively and profitably into practice and maintaining a strong challenger culture as an independent.

“The partnership with Bonsey Jaden was a clear signal of intent and I firmly believe that Bonsey Design is now ideally placed to provide the interconnected strategic, creative, channel thinking and application that client businesses crave. My job is just to help bring it all together and get our tremendously powerful proposition across.”

“Graham joins our business at interesting time as we contemplate a future that combines the power of design thinking and digital transformation. Bonsey Design is embracing that opportunity with an extra pair of experienced hands,” said Bonsey.
