The human mind instinctively loves great storytelling. In the past, we have had the privilege of honoring great storytellers from our world, like Alyque Padamsee, AG Krishnamurthy, Piyush Pandey, Prasoon Joshi, Aggie, and this time we are honoring Josy Paul (pictured right above). We are proud of all of them for captivating millions of minds around the world.”

Paul was visibly moved as he said, “Thank you, Advertising Club Calcutta. Thank you for your belief in me and my work. I am so overwhelmed I am trembling with gratitude. I can’t help but remember all the people who made me, who believed in me. I am a sum of these amazing mentors. Their belief is contagious! Belief is a crouching tiger that shows itself when you are facing failure and rejection. I carry their torch of belief with me and pass it around to my colleagues, partners, and everyone I meet.”

The event saw Advertising Club Calcutta present ‘The Storyteller’s Award’ to Shri Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay. The Storyteller’s Award honors notable personalities, from other fields of art and communication, who have instilled inspiration, wisdom and ingenuity through their fiercely original storytelling. “The eminent author, Shri Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay, is a living legend in Bengali literature, whose work has enthralled generations beyond age and language.” said Datta, as he handed over the award to Shri Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay who received a standing ovation.
