R/GA Australia has announced the appointment of Claire Gillis Waring to the role of executive creative director. She will lead the agency’s multidisciplinary teams across Sydney and Melbourne to push for creative excellence across product and services and communications work.

Waring joins R/GA Australia at a time when both the Sydney and Melbourne offices are experiencing significant growth due to its strong product and experience offerings. Most recently, R/GA Australia announced the Australian Professional Leagues win.

Prior to R/GA, Waring was executive creative director at Publicis Sapient, South East Asia, and has also held leadership roles at TBWADigital Arts Network, Havas, and Saatchi & Saatchi, building a reputation for driving creative cultures of innovation and collaboration.

Says Michael Titshall, VP and managing director, R/GA Australia: “Claire has consistently created world-class work at the intersection of brand, experience, and technology. Her obsession with interactive behavior and passion for creating work that allows people to experience brands in new ways perfectly aligns to our ambitions.”

Says Seamus Higgins, VP CCO, R/GA APAC: “I feel incredibly lucky that we were able to attract Claire to lead our transformed Australian creative offering into the future. Her talent and experience are exceptional. The whole team, including myself, are looking forward to working with and learning from her.”

Says Waring: “I’m thrilled to join the talented team at R/GA. I’ve always believed that by bringing true insight, imagination, and technology together you can make magic. R/GA has planted itself firmly on the human side of technology, embracing innovation to create a future that benefits all of us. As a creative leader and a mum, I can’t think of a place I’d rather be.”

Waring’s career of over 20 years has spanned Oceania, Europe and Asia during which she won a host of major industry awards, juries and speaking accolades – Cannes, Spikes, OneShow, Art Directors Club, Clio and Effies, among them.
