MediaCom elevates Josh Gallagher as the network’s first APAC Chief Operating Officer

MediaCom has promoted its regional Chief Product Officer Josh Gallagher to APAC Chief Operating Officer, a new role designed to provide additional senior support for the network’s teams and enhanced leadership to clients.

 

The decision to create this role by newly appointed APAC CEO Rupert McPetrie reflects the extraordinary growth the agency has experienced over the last year.

Gallagher joined the GroupM network in 2018 from Havas where he was APAC CSO in the role of Chief Product Officer, MediaCom APAC. As the agency’s product suite and capabilities have grown, Gallagher has been a driving force across performance and eCommerce and has led the Global Commerce Consulting offering within BLINK Consulting.

His brief for the new role will be to ensure that MediaCom builds on the business momentum by scaling the agency’s capabilities, through MediaCom’s distinctive and differentiated offering of Seeing The Bigger Picture, and by consistently delivering for the agency’s clients across the region.

Josh has done a terrific job building new capabilities and products for our clients over the last three years and has also played a significant role in our new business successes, including the recent wins of Bayer and The Coca-Cola Company. He will be an amazing COO for our region and will help MediaCom continue its successful trajectory,” said McPetrie.

In December 2021, MediaCom was awarded a total of nine awards at the annual Campaign Asia Pacific Agency of the Year Awards, including Gold for Singapore, MediaCom APAC’s regional headquarters.

This is testament to the successful year the agency has had, ranking second on Comvergence’s 2021 New Business Barometer in the region.

In November 2021, The Coca-Cola Company appointed WPP as its global marketing network partner. The bespoke, integrated team OpenX has been briefed to become a catalyst for the transformation of Coca-Cola’s marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

Additionally, in September of last year, Bayer consolidated global media planning and buying with MediaCom. The agency has been tasked to drive Bayer’s modernised marketing strategy, with best-in-class data and content integration as a key driver for business growth.
