The Voodoo Hack Sound creates soundtrack for Fox Entertainment’s ‘Monarch’ cinematic trailer

The Voodoo Hack Sound has delivered an epic cover of Garth Brooks – The Thunder Rolls on the official cinematic trailer for the 2022 Fox Entertainment series ‘Monarch’. Monarch, was originally set to premiere in Jan 2022 but due to covid issues will now be released in Fall 2022 (USA).

The series is a multigenerational drama about the Romans. The family is headed by Dottie Roman (Susan Sarandon) and Albie Roman (Trace Adkins) who have created a country music dynasty together. However, the origins of the dynasty are not what they seem to be. Roman’s daughter Nicky Roman steps in and does all she can to protect the dynasty’s reign in country music while ensuring her own stardom.

Ben Rosen and Drew Sherrod produced the track at The Voodoo Hack Sound studios in Sydney and Sherrod’s Nashville studio ‘Broadstroke’, engaging Nashville singer songwriting star Emma-Lee for the epic vocal needed to drive the high drama of the trailer.

Rosen says, “These gigs are hard to land with a tonne of stiff competition so we went all out creating an ‘epic country’ version of Garth Brooks ‘The Thunder Rolls’ as we thought it summed up the dramatic energy of the show.

“We needed a legit powerhouse voice to deliver the right intensity so we called on Nashville’s Emma-Lee, who as well as being an incredible vocalist is also a super star songwriter, penning songs for some of country musics biggest artists”

Sherrod says: “So few vocalists can turn around a performance like that so quickly. She sounded like she had been touring with it for months.”

Emma-Lee says: “I love songs that give me the opportunity to play with my range and dynamics ! This epic arrangement of The Thunder Rolls really made it easy for me to bring the drama to my performance. I had a ton of fun doing it !”
