Good Times: David Droga and Saatchi & Saatchi reunion

David Droga was appointed chief executive officer and creative chairman of Accenture Song in August 2021. Last week, Droga, on a network world tour, returned to Singapore – the city that kickstarted his stellar career. While he was in town many of his Saatchi & Saatchi work mates organised a reunion.
In 1996, David Droga moved to Singapore to become Executive Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Regional Creative Director of Saatchi Asia. By 1998, Saatchi was the region’s most successful network, and Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore was at the epicenter of this transformation.
He did this together with some of the biggest names in the creative advertising industry.
Last Friday, 26 years later, everyone met up for an emotional reunion in one of Singapore’s most famous sambal fish restaurant to reminisce the best years in their careers.
“A moment in time that will always be remembered as our golden years!”, said BBDO Singapore’s Tay Guan Hin, who was part of the creative team 26 years ago.

OMG…the real Ang mo returns to the hero’s welcome. Always had a problem with Ang mo’s coming into SG to “save” the agency and if you just look at the pic, that is exactly what it looked like. Being an Ang mo myself I can hand on heart say this with conviction. Singapore doesn’t need (they never did) Ang mo expats coming to their city to create “greatness”. Singapore was a scammer CD’s delight as much of the work that was awarded during the nineties was scam. Such a pity that the “greatness” of Droga’s S&S was steeped in scam work. Yep, somebody had to say…and I’ll eat my words if this is posted sans censorship. And if you don’t believe just ask Ed or Calvin.
