Ogilvy Vietnam announces the return of Brandon Chew and Sani Ahmed plus the promotions of Thu An Ha, Tra My Nguyen & Duy Anh Nguyen

Ogilvy Vietnam has announced a series of new hires and internal promotions, further strengthen its leadership team to expand service offering.

“Ogilvy Vietnam has been the fastest growing Ogilvy market in the Asia Pacific region for the last 3 years. That growth has come almost exclusively from delighting our existing clients with our existing core services – Brand stewardship, Advertising, PR, and Social & Digital content. In 2023, we will build out the capabilities and services we offer our clients, as well as taking these to new clients. These appointments will further strengthen our leadership team and ensure our future is in the right hands.”, said Soames Hines, Group CEO of Ogilvy Vietnam.

Brandon Chew (pictured top right) has rejoined Ogilvy Vietnam from Cheil Vietnam where he headed strategy on the Samsung business. Chew takes on the role of Chief Strategy Officer for the Ogilvy Group with a brief to shape to the next generation of strategists (beyond just communications planning); with cross-discipline skillsets across brand building, connected customer experience & commerce activation. His team will act as strategic client partners – focused on solving their biggest business challenges (and opportunities) in an increasingly complex landscape

In addition, Chew will head up Ogilvy’s growing consultancy business as Managing Director of Ogilvy Consulting. As part of this role, Chew will leverage his expertise in behavioural science as Principal Consultant for Ogilvy Action, the agency’s recently relaunched behavioural science-based brand activation business.

Sani Ahmed (pictured top left) also rejoins Ogilvy Vietnam from Capital Studios Media City where he was Chief Operations Officer responsible for content creation and production across the CSMC group. Ahmed returns to take on the role of Managing Director of Ogilvy Advertising, as well as Head of Ogilvy Studios, WPP’s content production business in Vietnam.

Hines said: “I’m delighted to have Brandon and Sani back at Ogilvy. They have a proven track record in this market and share our vision to make Ogilvy Vietnam the “best place to work” for GenZ by 2025. I couldn’t hope for two better partners for this journey.”

In addition to Chew and Ahmed, Ogilvy Vietnam has also made several internal promotions.

Thu An Ha (pictured bottom middle) is promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Ogilvy Experience. An Ogilvy veteran of 15 years, An Ha will work alongside regional Ogilvy Experience leader, Jeremy Webb to further strengthen the agency’s data, technology, and personalization capabilities.

Tra My Nguyen (pictured bottom left), previously Ogilvy’s Head of Client Solutions, has been promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Ogilvy Advertising, renewing her previous partnership with Ahmed. Tra My also takes on the role of Chief Marketing Officer, partnering with Ahmed on new business, industry thought leadership, and helping to shape the future of the advertising industry in Vietnam.

Duy Anh Nguyen (pictured bottom right) is promoted to Head of Client Solutions with a brief to reinvent modern-day client services and delivery to increase client delight, whilst improving operational and cost efficiencies. Duy Anh will partner with Ogilvy’s Head of Operations, Nur Yusof in this role.

“These promotions are testimony to the strength of our bench at Ogilvy Vietnam. An Ha, Tra My, and Duy Anh are now in the agency and client leadership roles that play to their strengths, and to their ambitions. To complete our leadership team, we will be announcing additional leadership hires in early 2023 for Ogilvy Action, Ogilvy Brand Design (previously WPP’s The Cult), and (hopefully) a new Chief Creative Officer for the Ogilvy group,” added Hines.
