Flock (FCN) Indonesia creates “Art of Rejecting Fraudsters” film for Bank Central Asia
Bank Central Asia, in collaboration with Flock (FCN) Indonesia, has created the “Art of Rejecting Fraudsters,” a movement inspired by this phenomenon. They created a film addressing the serious dangers of ever-evolving banking-related fraud.
The older generation in Indonesia is intimidated by the digital world and feels powerless against modern-day fraudsters. However, contrary to stereotypes, everyone is vulnerable to fraud, including the digital-savvy younger generation who may feel immune. This is because they are unaware of the safe limits and what personal data should not be shared, which we highlight as the key to confidently reject fraud.
As an inspiration, there is already a small trend on Indonesian social media where people are pranking fraudsters with silly and confusing answers. This positive attitude towards fraud is what we want to highlight to ignite the audience’s spirit and encourage them to join the movement.
Unlike typical educational public service announcements, the film does not scare or portray the audience as victims. Instead, it switches the tone to a fun fight against fraud, narrated by Anggun, the most elegant singer in Indonesia, whose name literally means “elegant.”
Throughout the film, fraudster’s acts are answered playfully yet elegantly, like a professional prankster. It shows that no one is powerless and anyone can master the art of rejecting fraudsters if they know the four dangerous key questions that should never be answered. The story concludes by naming the art of rejecting fraudsters as “Tolak dengan Anggun,” which means “Declining Elegantly” and makes it a movement.
Anggun is a legend and one of the best-admired singers in Indonesia, renowned as a strong and empowering woman. Her reputation amplifies any message positively. That’s why she was chosen as the ambassador for the campaign, as her name “Anggun” means “elegant” in Bahasa Indonesia, giving “Tolak dengan Anggun” a double meaning of declining elegantly and declining with Anggun.
