China and Japan lead APAC at shortlist stage of the ADC 102nd Annual Awards

Dentsu Tokyo has picked up the most shortlisted entries from APAC in the global ADC 102nd Annual Awards, as announced today by The One Club for Creativity.
Shortlist entries were selected by this year’s esteemed jury to move into the second round of judging, which is taking place now. This year’s finalists — entries which will win a Gold, Silver or Bronze Cube or Merit — will be announced later this month.
Dentsu Tokyo leads in the region with 22 shortlisted entries, including three each for The Ad Museum Tokyo/Yoshida Hideo Memorial Foundation “Beautiful Mutations”, Nikkei/The Hoshi Awards “Endless Appetite”, Zespri International Japan/Food “Healthy AR Streamers”, and Dentsu Advertising Awards 75th Anniversary “walk,walk”.
TBWA\Media Arts Lab Shanghai has 12 entries on the shortlist, all for “Through the Five Passes – Shot on iPhone” on behalf of Apple. That work is the most shortlisted entry from APAC.
The Nine Shanghai has 11 shortlisted entries, including eight for Daming Palace “Ladies of Tang Dynasty”, and three for Huaisu Calligraphy Study Association “Redesigning Monk Huaisu’s Cursive Script”. Also with 11 entries on the shortlist is Xi’an Gaopeng Xi’an, all on behalf of Jin Jinang Quan, including four each for “480ML” and “Slogan Brand Design”.
Other agencies and studios in APAC with the most shortlisted entries are Shenzhen Lingyun Creative Packaging Design Shenzhen with nine, Untitled Macao Macau with eight, Bito Singapore with seven, and Shiseido Creative Tokyo, TBWA\Hakuhodo Tokyo, The Watermelon Seoul, and Ten Buttons Guangzhou with six each.
Mainland China leads the APAC country and region count with 180 shortlisted entries, followed by Japan with 116, Hong Kong SAR 21, Macau SAR 16, Singapore 15, South Korea 12, Taiwan-China 10, Vietnam 8, India 7, Malaysia 5, Thailand 4, and Indonesia 2,
Globally, Rethink in Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver leads the way with 35 shortlisted entries, including six for IKEA “The Troll” and five each for Kraft Heinz “AI Ketchup”, and Penguin Random House “The Unburnable Book”. Squarespace New York has 32 entries on the shortlist, including 11 each for “The Singularity” and “The Singularity BTS”.
A total of 2,216 entries from 52 counties and regions are shortlisted this year. The top five countries for shortlisted entries are the US with 977, Canada with 242, Germany with 210, mainland China with 180, and Japan with 116.
