Kristal Knight departs ECD role at Ogilvy New Zealand after over three years with the agency

Ogilvy New Zealand Executive Creative Director Kristal Knight has announced her departure from the agency after three impactful years.
In a post shared to LinkedIn, Knight said: “It’s been an epic 3 years of hallucinated toasties, subliminal mammogram reminders, the many worlds of University study, New Zealand ‘Truism’, newborn parents, pulp-induced relationship dramas, making light of death and Darude-blasting disco-boobs.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of my favourite people in the industry and in the most formidable creative network in the world. Thank you to the team and our wonderful clients. Time for new adventures.”
Knight’s broader career spans more than 20 years across London and New Zealand, working at several top agencies known for their innovative approaches. Her work has been internationally awarded at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Spikes, LIA and beyond.

Prior to joining Ogilvy New Zealand in early 2022, Knight spent five years at Saatchi & Saatchi as a Senior Art Director rising to Creative Director in 2018. During her time at Saatchi & Saatchi NZ, some of Knight’s defining projects included ‘A Career-Limiting Campaign’ for Global Women NZ, and her bias-defying work for Champions For Change – a group of more than 50 CEOs and Chairs committed to promoting diversity in leadership.
She has also served as a juror at major shows including Cannes Lions, LIA, Spikes Asia and Axis, and remains a strong advocate for equity in the creative industry. Through her involvement with the Women’s Work collective, she continues to help champion visibility and opportunity for New Zealand’s female photographers.
Her next move is yet to be announced.
