Bestads Best TV of the Week: JCPenney’s ‘Ropa Vieja’ via Mischief @ No Fixed Address

Each week Bestads showcases standout global advertising work as reviewed by an esteemed international creative director or team. This week’s Best TV ad is JCPenney ‘Ropa Vieja’ via Mischief @ No Fixed Address.

The spot was selected as the winner in TV by this week’s guest judge Derek Green, Chief Creative Officer, TBWA RAAD, Middle East.

“No gimmicks. No dancing. Just a simple, timeless moment everyone can relate to. I’m sold. I want that $300 Samba Red Dutch Oven for $60,” said Green.

Director duo Humans return with a vibrant new campaign for JCPenney, applying their signature style to four fresh commercials. From the warmth of a lively family gathering, to the bustle of an airplane, to the intensity of a tennis match, each spot highlights the timeless yet trend-forward fashion that JCPenney has embraced for generations.
