Lowe Lintas Mumbai picks up Silver Lion at Cannes in the Pharma Lions category

Lowe Lintas Mumbai has won a Silver Lion for “DawAi Reader” in the Cannes Lions Pharma category. Grand Prix and Gold Lions will be announced at the awards presentation in Cannes later tonight.
In the Pharma category 3 Silver and 4 Bronze Lions have been awarded. Lowe Lintas Mumbai is the only winner from Asia in the category so far.
DawAI Reader is a first-of-its-kind AI device trained to decode doctors’ handwriting using a custom-built OCR engine, fuzzy logic to handle errors, and a cross-referenced drug database to ensure accuracy. In rural India, a chemist isn’t just a dispenser, they’re often the last line of healthcare. But with barely legible prescriptions and no digital tools to help, mistakes were inevitable.
It doesn’t replace the chemist; it empowers them by reading out medicine names and dosages in local languages, bridging literacy gaps and human error. The creative leap wasn’t in adding technology, it was in designing it for the most underserved environments.
