Fenesta celebrates true freedom with #ShutTheShor campaign starring Sangeeta Gharu
August brings with it the spirit of patriotism, when every Indian remembers the battles that defined our freedom struggle. Yet, there are fights that continue every day—against prejudice, stereotypes, and the doubts that erode confidence. This year, Fenesta, India’s No. 1 windows and doors brand, launched an inspiring new film under its ongoing #ShutTheShor campaign, bringing this reality to life while celebrating the spirit of personal freedom and the courage to silence life’s noise.
Created by Titus Upputuru, the film featured Sangeeta Gharu, model and TEDx speaker, whose journey reflected resilience in the face of relentless criticism. The film opened with her during a fashion shoot, when voices from her past cut through the flashes—remarks on her looks, height, and place in the industry. Between these echoes were glimpses of her childhood photos and backstage moments.
The film captured how she chose not to internalise these voices, instead smiling into the camera and declaring: “Bahut logon ne bahut saari baatien kari… I just ShutTheShor and did my own thing!” – a message that resonated far beyond her own experience.
With this film, Fenesta expanded its promise of living free from not just noise, but also the social and emotional “shor” that held people back. Through the #ShutTheShor campaign, Fenesta urged individuals to silence distractions and prejudices, such as gender stereotypes, ageism, and body shaming, that drowned out their inner voice. By launching it during the nation’s celebrations of freedom, the brand reinforced that true liberty is not only about a country’s independence, but also about empowering individuals to break free from everyday barriers and biases.
Susmita Nag, Head of Marketing at Fenesta, said: “At Fenesta, shutting out noise has always been our promise. With #ShutTheShor, we go beyond blocking sounds outside your window or door to silencing the inner noise – judgment, stereotypes, and self-doubt. These are the barriers that hold people back more than anything else. This time, we wanted to remind everyone that true freedom isn’t just about our nation’s past, it’s about breaking free from everyday biases and owning your story. Real independence begins with you.”
