Young Min Ha to lead Samsung Mobile retail strategy at Cheil Indonesia

Cheil Indonesia has appointed Young Min Ha as Head of Retail for Samsung’s Mobile Division, strengthening its capability to deliver shopper-centric, data-led retail strategies for clients in Indonesia’s fast-evolving mobile and consumer technology market.

Young Min joins Cheil Indonesia from Cheil KSA, where he led retail marketing for Samsung Mobile and Consumer Electronics businesses across the Kingdom. In this role, he managed large-scale in-store transformations, fixture innovation, and field force programs that significantly boosted sell-out performance. He also oversaw vendor partnerships, fixture supply chains, incentive schemes, and launch campaigns – all tailored to local market needs while aligning with Samsung’s global retail vision.

A retail marketing expert with over 15 years of international experience, Young Min has worked across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia for leading brands including Samsung, LG, and Hyundai. His career blends brand-side leadership and agency-side expertise, having held key positions at Cheil, Innocean, and HS Ad.

“Young Min’s journey from Cheil KSA to Cheil Indonesia brings us not just a leader, but a proven builder of retail ecosystems that connect global strategy with local market impact,” said Joo Hwan Kim, CEO of Cheil Indonesia. “His ability to merge cultural understanding with operational excellence will be invaluable in helping our clients, particularly in Samsung’s Mobile Division, to create retail experiences that drive both brand engagement and business results.”

In his new role, Young Min will lead retail strategy, in-store innovation, and omnichannel shopper engagement, ensuring that Samsung’s retail presence in Indonesia continues to set the benchmark for customer experience and sales performance.

“Retail is the brand’s frontline, it’s where decisions are made, loyalty is built, and growth happens,” said Young Min Ha. “Having seen diverse retail landscapes in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and now Southeast Asia, I’m excited to work with the Cheil Indonesia team and our clients to build next-generation retail experiences that inspire shoppers and deliver measurable impact.”

From setting fixture and field force standards in 16 African markets to managing cross-platform digital campaigns in Europe and Saudi Arabia, Young Min approaches retail like navigating a dense, ever-changing forest with precision, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the environment. His appointment reinforces Cheil Indonesia’s commitment to world-class talent and client-first innovation, further solidifying its position as a regional leader in experience-driven marketing.
