Cathay celebrates art and travel in ‘Slowly Explore, Fully Inspired’ short film
Cathay has launched ‘Slowly Explore, Fully Inspired’, a short video produced by acclaimed Thai filmmaker Chayanop Boonprakob (Moo), highlighting the surprising parallels between art and travel.
The release is part of Cathay’s three-year partnership with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA), aimed at inspiring travellers and promoting Hong Kong as a world-class arts and cultural destination.
Director Moo brings his signature genre-fusion style and vibrant storytelling to the short, which stars popular Thai content creator Pimtha Thanida Manalertruengkul, who boasts a following of over four million fans in Thailand, and Australian model-actor Alexander Yue, based in Singapore.
Blending humour and heart, the short film captures how discovery is not limited to seasoned travellers or art aficionados, but a joy anyone can experience when they slow down and explore with fresh eyes. In the story, Rachel – played by Pimtha – is visiting Hong Kong with her hurried, itinerary-driven boyfriend, Alexander, who is intent on checking off every stop. The final straw comes when he rushes through M+, Asia’s global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District, before an unexpected incident forces them to pause and fully experience the beauty of each moment.
This film builds on Cathay’s ongoing three-year partnership with WKCDA. As WKCDA’s exclusive Travel Partner since 2023, Cathay has fostered international artist exchanges, supported world-class exhibitions, and promoted Hong Kong as a cultural bridge between East and West. ‘Slowly Explore, Fully Inspired’ underscores this commitment, encouraging travellers to move beyond sightseeing and experience travel as a personal journey filled with inspiration, new perspectives, and meaningful connections.
