Creative community comes together at Leo Singapore for Portfolio Night

Earlier this week, 45 Singaporean students showcased their work to 15 creative leaders led by Asheen Naidu, Group Executive Creative Director at Leo Singapore, at Leo Singapore for The One Club for Creativity’s annual Portfolio Night.

 

Now in its 22nd year, Portfolio Night is the world’s largest advertising portfolio review program, designed to bridge the gap between emerging talent and established creative leaders across 24 cities worldwide.

“It was really special to feel the energy and excitement in the room. It makes me very hopeful for the future of our industry,” said Naidu.

Tay Guan Hin, The One Club for Creativity’s APAC Regional Director, said: “On the surface, it’s a portfolio review, but to me, it felt like community building. Young creatives and seasoned leaders came together for one night with a shared goal: to raise creative standards in Singapore. When community shows up, creativity rises.”

After assessing all portfolios, the reviewers chose Kien (Trung) Nguyen as Singapore’s All-Star. A junior copywriter at Ogilvy Singapore, he said: “For an ad-nerd coming from Vietnam and only recently moving to Singapore, Portfolio Night was that red-carpet event where I got to meet all the heroes whose books taught me how to build my own. I never went to portfolio school, so being recognised for my passport-style book truly felt like a full-circle moment.”

Nguyen will now compete with other All-Stars from around the world on a virtual brief, provided by Google. The winning All-Stars team will be flown by The One Club for Creativity to New York for Creative Week 2026 in May.

Nguyen added: “Winning All-Star is exciting (and a little nerve-wracking), but in a way that makes me want to do my best in the global challenge. Hopefully my cross-culture background helps. Either way, I’m ready! And may the best idea win!”
