Storm Communications Nepal hosts first-ever ‘Portfolio Night’ at Kathmandu

Earlier this month, Storm Communications Nepal hosted the country’s first-ever ‘Portfolio Night’ – a global One Club for Creativity event – at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. Organized in association with Asian Paints Nepal, KFC, Khukuri, Sound Nepal, All In One, and Outreach Nepal, the event marked a milestone moment for Nepal’s advertising and creative fraternity.

Supported by the Kathmandu University School of Arts and the Advertising Board Nepal, the government body for advertising and communications, the event brought together some of the brightest creative minds from across the country. Over 45 participants from leading agencies and art schools presented their portfolios to 15 distinguished judges – including renowned creative leaders, brand custodians, and industry veterans.

The evening celebrated mentorship, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas between Nepal’s emerging and established creative professionals.

Sourajit Ghosal, Founder of Storm Communications Nepal and the city host, said: “Events like these not only allow agencies to discover fresh talent but also create pathways for a more robust and innovative creative industry. It’s an honor to bring such a prestigious global event to Nepal and witness the passion of our young creatives.”

Ujaya Shakya, First Vice President of the Advertising Association of Nepal and jury member for The One Club for Creativity’s Young Ones 2023 (New York, USA), added: “Bringing Portfolio Night to Nepal will surely inspire young creatives to join our fraternity. This is a step forward in connecting Nepal’s creative energy with the global stage.”

Swarnima Shrestha, a student from Kathmandu University School of Arts, stood as the All Star Kathmandu winner, who will represent Nepal at Portfolio Night’s regional and global All-Stars program – a week-long creative challenge that culminates in the winning team attending The One Club’s Creative Week in New York, around May 2026.

The event underscored the growing significance of Nepal’s creative industry in the global landscape. By offering young talents direct access to experienced mentors and a chance to represent Nepal in The One Club’s Global All-Stars Program, Portfolio Night Kathmandu has set the stage for a new generation of creative excellence.

The event concluded with a celebration of creativity, ambition, and collaboration – marking a defining moment for Nepal’s entry into the global creative community.

Following the success of its debut edition in Kathmandu, Storm Communication is all set to host the first-ever Portfolio Night in New Delhi, India, on November 29, 2025 for another inspiring evening celebrating creativity, talent, and ideas.
