Bestads Best of the Week Reviewed by Noël Bunting, Chief Creative Officer, Publicis London

Each week Bestadsontv.com [the global arm of Campaign Brief] picks the very best advertising in the world, in every medium – which is reviewed by a top creative director or team to select their own personal favourites.

This week’s guest judge is Noel Bunting, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis London.

BEST TV

Favorite: Absolut Vodka “Tabasco. I couldn’t ask for a better way to start the year than this Absolut Vodka ad. Mark my words, this will be one that’s referenced for years to come (by me, at least). It’s dripping in craft from the very first frame. The (perfect) music doesn’t begin until the helicopter door shuts. Craft. Did I wonder how they’re sipping those bloody mary’s through their suits? No. I simply don’t care. Because the film had already won me over by that point.

Runner-up: Instacart “For Papa. Another film shot in 4:3 I guess says something about where my tastes lie. Or that I’m old and need my daily dose of nostalgia where I can get it. Ben + Benson is not I combination I would have expected, but I respect it for that reason. There are questions left unanswered in this film, including what the hell does this have to do with bananas, other than the whole thing being bananas, but the overall entertainment factor and uniqueness made me want to watch it again.

BEST PRINT

Favorite: UNO Global “Mini Bodyguard. I love the concept of the bodyguard (no need to read the copy to get it), although I think it would have been more impactful as photography rather than illustration.

Runner-up: RSPCA “Concrete can be cruel. This one certainly gets the point across quickly. And accurately portrays how f**king hot it is in Australia.

BEST OUTDOOR

Favorite: IVF Australia “Boost the W@#kforce. I hate myself for picking a pun as the winner, but I found it to be the most memorable of the bunch, and one that men might actually stop and read.

Runner-up: AXA “Financial Abuse. Not the sexiest of ads, but that’s what I like about it. It makes you stop, it makes you think. And it’s just the right tone for the brand.

BEST INTERACTIVE

Favorite: Naisten Linja “Banned Collection. Smart. I love it when a hurdle becomes an opportunity. After all, creatives are at their best when they’re faced with limitations.

Runner-up: Rich Earth Institute “Pee on a Plant“. I voted this as runner-up because of the insight. The execution is less thought-through and leaves more questions than answers (indoor or outdoor plant?!), but I do appreciate the ambition to rally viewers during the world’s biggest bathroom break.

Named ‘one of the most creative people in advertising’ in New York before moving to London, Noel has been a global creative lead on Dove at Ogilvy and led independent agency Neverland as Executive Creative Director, helping it to become one of London’s most talked about agencies (and Campaign’s Start-up of the Year in 2022), before joining Publicis in January 2024 as CCO.

In one year, Publicis London became the 6th most winning agency in the UK for new business and the most female-led agency in London. Her campaigns for brands like Volvo, Dove, and Oreo have brought in numerous awards, including a Grand Prix Lion for the Oreo Daily Twist.

Noel is passionate about finding human truths that can cross borders and media, making truly international work that not only brings something novel to the creative space but is also highly effective for the brand.

She is very much a human being first, creative leader second. She lives in Brighton, England with her husband and twin boys.
