MAD Stars 2026 calls for applications for YOUNG STARS and NEW STARS competitions

MAD STARS invites emerging creatives from around the world to join YOUNG STARS and NEW STARS – two global competitions designed to go beyond learning and give emerging creatives the chance to prove their abilities in real-world conditions.

Applications are now open for both programs: YOUNG STARS is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students of all majors, while NEW STARS is open to professionals with less than five years of experience in marketing, advertising, digital, video, ad tech, or PR.

Both competitions culminate in an on-site final in Busan, Korea, from August 25 to 28, 2026, during MAD STARS 2026.

Following an online preliminary round, selected finalists advance to Busan, where they take on an intensive challenge: creating a campaign within 30 hours based on a brief revealed on-site.

Finalists will be evaluated on strategy, creativity, and execution, while engaging directly with jury members from leading global agencies and brands, including Cheil, Dentsu, Hakuhodo, INNOCEAN, Publicis Groupe Korea, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA\Media Arts Lab, and VML, receiving practical feedback grounded in real campaign development.

Beyond the competition, participants will experience the full MAD STARS program, including conferences, networking events, and other program activities. They will gain first-hand insights into the latest trends in the global marketing and advertising industry, while connecting with peers and industry professionals from around the world.

Through these interactions, participants can exchange ideas, broaden their perspectives, and build an international network that supports long-term career growth.

Registration is now open, with deadlines of May 25 for YOUNG STARS and June 4 for NEW STARS. Participants may apply individually or as part of a team through the official YOUNG STARS and NEW STARS application pages.

Both competitions award Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Crystal, with winners gaining global recognition, while all participants receive a certificate of completion. In addition, internship opportunities will be offered to YOUNG STARS winners.

By taking on this challenge, participants gain hands-on experience, expand their networks, and strengthen their creative capabilities on an international stage.
