Oppo celebrates finding beauty even in the ordinary with two star-studded narratives created by Director’s Think Tank + Grey Worldwide Malaysia
To highlight the superior qualities of the Oppo Reno Series camera, Grey Worldwide Malaysia teamed up with Director’s Think Tank (DTT) to create two visually captivating films featuring celebrities Neelofa and Owen Yap.
The campaign features the personalities humbled by the beautiful details of their surroundings, enhanced by the Oppo Reno’s camera features such as the Ultra Night Mode, Wide Angle Camera, 10 X Hybrid Zoom, 4K HD Video, and Ultra Night Mode. These upgraded specs ensure greater clarity, as showcased by the colourful visuals that are magnified and brought to life in both narratives. This reinforces the message that true clarity has the power to redefine perceptions.
Neelofa’s film was shot in Ipoh, Perak with the personality and entrepreneur exploring the hidden beauty that can unfold even in most simple of neighbourhoods when viewed through the lens of the Oppo Reno Series. Similarly, Yap’s location in Mt Bromo, Surabaya transport him into a majestic adventure, revealing richness and a new depth to the natural environment surrounding him.
“Directing films with a heavy focus on natural landscapes is always refreshing and exciting,” explained Sling Ng, Film Director at DTT.
“Despite meticulous planning, we always need to improvise and react to the ever-changing environment. These challenges allow both the team behind the film and also the cast to explore and experience the setting and process together as a tighter unit. Neelofa and Owen are two of the easiest celebrities I have worked with and we had great production support from Kokako, the crew in Surabaya, to capture the beautiful details that the Oppo Reno is able to unveil,” she continues.
The videos are also in conjunction with the brand’s Beyond Your Vision OPPO Photography Contest, a unique platform that aims to inspire a new generation of smartphone photography enthusiasts nationwide. Participants are encouraged to submit photos taken by their OPPO Reno Series phones according to established themes to stand a chance of winning prizes worth up to RM 95,000.
Since launching at the end of July across Oppo’s social media channels, the videos have already garnered over 5.1 million views.
