TBWA Singapore launches try this at home initiative for Singapore Tourism Board

TBWA\Singapore has launched a series of videos on social media for the Singapore Tourism Board to inspire you to learn a new creative skill while exploring your passion from home.

 

The series ‘Try This At Home: Tips From Singapore’ features clever ideas brought to us by some of Singapore’s most colourful personalities.

Transform a simple pack of instant noodles into a favourite local dish with cook, TV host and food writer Sarah Huang Benjamin, decorate your own beautiful and reusable face mask with Peranakan kebaya makers and brothers Raymond and Edmond Wong, and pimp up your bedroom slippers with sneaker designer Mark Ong, aka Mr Sabotage.

“It was simple recipe: Give these charming people a little creative task. Then let them do what they do best. The natural warmth of our Singapore culture oozes through. No over-rehearsing. No over – planning or producing. And voila! – you too can Try This At Home!” Said Peter Callaghan, Creative Director, TBWA\Singapore

Lim Shoo Ling, Brand Director of Singapore Tourism Board says “We teamed up with our creative agency TBWA to help locals and overseas fans keep their spirits up. The idea was to explore their passion and help them learn new skills from our home-grown talents – be it cooking, crafting, and more – in the comfort of their own homes. We hope everyone enjoys a taste of Singapore!”

There are six videos in the series, which is being rolled out progressively on social media from 27 April to 25 May 2020.

The Try This At Home videos are another addition to a series of creative initiatives by the Singapore Tourism Board to inspire and engage with partners, customers and Singapore at large during the Covid-19 global pandemic.

These include sending the Merlion back home during the circuit breaker, bringing ’home’ a virtual choir of 900 and creating a series of inspiring backgrounds of beautiful Singapore landmarks that anyone can download and use to make video conferencing more fun.
