DDB Asia hires Peter Lewis as Chief People Officer

DDB Asia has appointed Peter Lewis in a new role as Chief People Officer. Lewis will work alongside Global Chief People Officer Roisin Rooney and DDB Asia CEO David Tang, to support DDB teams and build a high-performance and high-happiness culture in every agency.

A talent management expert renowned for his empathy, intelligence, and sensibility, Lewis has over 25 years of experience working both client and agency-side, including over 10 years at the Financial Times. He also spent a combined 14 years at DDB in London and Singapore, managing teams across multiple offices.

Lewis will lead talent development, collaboration, training, and agency culture, including the region’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy. He will support DDB Asia’s office leaders to develop talent and build thriving, diverse teams that epitomise the network’s core values, the Four Freedoms, and the Unexpected Works promise.

“People are the soul of our network,” said Rooney. “We want everyone who comes through our doors to be as great as the people already here. Peter embodies that in every way, and I’m delighted to have him as my partner in one of the most exciting and entrepreneurial regions. He will not only be the torch bearer for our rich culture but also support our leaders to flex agility and adapt to changing demands in an ever-changing landscape.”

“We want our talent to grow, thrive, and be happy at DDB,” said David. “As a former planner, Peter understands our business and our challenges. He’s been there, doing the work and dealing with clients. Most importantly, he’s got DDB in his blood. In Peter, we now have a talent chief, a coach, and a best friend for all our offices in Asia.”

“I am a huge fan of DDB and I’m thrilled to be back in the region,” said Lewis. “This is an incredible network with very talented people, clever leaders, and a global support system that just keeps getting stronger. It is my privilege to help David unlock even more potential for DDB in Asia.”
