TBWA\Asia appoints Peter Khoury to regional chief creative officer and TBWA\Singapore CCO

TBWA\Asia has appointed Peter Khoury to the role of regional chief creative officer and TBWA\Singapore’s chief creative officer, effective January 1st. Khoury will be based out of Singapore.

Sean Donovan, President, TBWA\Asia, said: “As we gear up for a new year and a new level of Disruption and growth, Peter joining us reinforces our continuous commitment to re-invent how we create ongoing value and deliver sustainable creative solutions for our clients. A dynamic world requires a dynamic approach.

“Perhaps I’m biased, having worked with Peter in South Africa for many years, but I can attest to his outstanding creative capabilities and the vital role he played in the growth and creative success of TBWA\Hunt Lascaris. His impact has already been felt, and I’m excited to see more of this in the coming months.”

Joining from TBWA\NEBOKO, Netherlands, Khoury was creative lead, global, working on adidas. Prior to this move, he was chief creative officer at TBWA\Hunt Lascaris, a role he held for eight years and helped guide the agency to be recognised as the best individual agency for multiple consecutive years.

In his capacity as chief creative officer at TBWA\Singapore, Khoury will partner with Mandy Wong, TBWA\Singapore president and work closely with executive creative director, Asheen Naidu and deputy executive creative director, Loo Yong Ping, across the agency’s client portfolio, including Singapore Airlines, National Arts Council, NCS and Hilton to name a few.

Wong said: “We entered 2023 with ambitious targets, and closed off having exceeded our plan. As we set our sights on 2024, I’m delighted to welcome Peter to the agency, and the region.”

Under Wong’s leadership, TBWA\Singapore has enjoyed an impressive year of growth and creative recognition having recently won Creative Agency of the Year at Campaign Asia’s 2023 Awards festival, in addition to being recognised as B2C Marketing Agency of the Year and Content Marketing Agency of the Year. Earlier in the year the agency was also acknowledged for their success at Marketing-Interactive’s 2023 Agency of the Year celebrations and nabbed Creative Agency of the Year for the 5th consecutive year.

In addition to Khoury’s CCO TBWA\Singapore role, he will wear two hats broadening his responsibilities as regional chief creative officer, working closely with the collective’s regional creative leadership team: Melvin Mangada, chief creative officer TBWA\SMP Philippines, Takahiro Hosoda, chief creative officer, TBWA\Hakuhodo, Ronnie Wu, chief creative officer, TBWA\China and Veradis Vinyaratn (Mike), Chairman TBWA\Thailand.

Khoury first joined the collective in 2000 at TBWA\Hunt Lascaris where he was mentored by creative legend John Hunt, returning to TBWA\Hunt Lascaris in 2014 with the ambition of elevating the agency to new heights. Successful in his plight, TBWA\Hunt Lascaris was recognised as Best Individual Agency in SA in 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In addition to achieving this recognition the agency was named Regional Agency of the Decade Runner up – Africa and Middle East at Cannes Lions.
