Heckler Singapore’s Danielle Melianti design directs new animation for Toyota House

Heckler Singapore has unveiled a new animated identity design for Toyota House, an inclusive mobility park just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Created in collaboration with Octagon London, this project showcases Toyota’s commitment to accessibility and innovation in transportation.

Depicting the movement and synchronicity of elite athletes, Heckler Singapore design director Danielle Melianti got to work on creating a design identity for Toyota House; a five-stage experience housed in The New Cap Centre, Paris.

Set with the brief to create an animation that felt considered, fluid and friendly, Melianti explains the aim was to create a design piece that felt instantly recognisable as part of the Olympic Games and also beautiful to watch.

Melianti says: “It was important that our spotlighted athletes had strong, sharp, purposeful movements – a representation of these world-class sporting elites, coupled with an emotive soundscape that elevates their movement.”

To achieve a subtle and more considered approach, Melianti and the animation team shifted away from busy layers of design elements moving all at once and instead opted for standalone motion pieces.

She added: “For example, we have a mountain biker that gently bounces up and down on the top of the mountain but stays stationary and a swimmer diving into the water whose actions seamlessly repeat.

“The background – including athletic equipment, Parisian landmarks and the line work – also incorporated subtle movement such as background ripples and vibrations, or elements such as the lift moving up and down on the Eiffel Tower.”
