Big Night for VML Manila at Kidlat Awards; Arcade Films + MullenLowe Treyna also top winners
On Friday night the Philippines 4As staged their annual Kidlat Creative Awards. In total 28 Gold, 52 Silver, and 110 Bronze awards were handed out by the jury made up of top creative directors from Manila and Asia.
MullenLowe Treyna picked up the Kidlat Sinag (Grand Prix for Good) and the Grand Kidlat (Best of Show) was awarded to VML Manila, who also were crowned Agency of the Year. Another significant highlight of the night was the Lifetime Achievement Award handed to the amazing Angel Guerrero from Adobo Magazine (pictured below).
The judging panel this year comprised Merlee Jayme (Jayme HQ), Joao Braga (Global ECD Publicis Hong Kong), Subun Khow (CCO Dentsu Thailand), Peter Khoury (CCO TBWA APAC), Daniel Kee (ECD MullenLowe Singapore), Thasorn Boonyanate (CCO BBDO Thailand), and Teeny Gonzales (CEO of Seven A.D.).
The Grand Kidlat went to VML Manila for their “KitKat Break Bar” for Nestlé Philippines. The Kidlat Sinag award went to MullenLowe Treyna for Scoliosis Philippines’ “#StripesFitCheck” and Nestlé Philippines were named Advertiser of the Year. Top production companies were also honoured – Arcade Film Factory winning Production Company of the Year and Hit Productions named Audio Production Company of the Year.
VML Manila, MullenLowe Treyna and Arcade Film Factory won 5 Gold awards each with Hit Productions winning 3 and BBDO Guerrero and Filmpabrika taking 2 each. Single Golds went to TBWA/SMP, Leo Manila, Propel Manila, Oliver Philippines, Soundesign Manila and Kerplunk!.
The best performing agencies on the night were:

MullenLowe Treyna won 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze awards.
BBDO Guerrero won 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 8 Bronze awards.
TBWA/SMP won 1 Gold, 7 Silver and 12 Bronze awards.
Leo Manila won 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze awards.
