Sunbed and pool umbrella take centre stage in METT Singapore film by Forsman & Bodenfors

To mark the official opening of METT Singapore, the hotel is inviting guests to experience the “Simply Magnetic” allure of the iconic Fort Canning property. The campaign, created by Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore, brings the hotel to life through a short film in which a sunbed and pool umbrella take centre stage, navigating the streets of Singapore and the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park on a charming and unexpected journey toward the hotel.

As the sunbed and pool umbrella wander through the transformed heritage property, the film reveals glimpses of what to expect at METT Singapore. The curious sunbed finds itself casually cruising past L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, METT’s ode to premium Italian coastal dining. Meanwhile an excitable pool umbrella, a twirl in its step, can’t seem to decide where to go next, while surprising staff along the way. The two friends at last reunite in their natural habitat – the poolside, against the backdrop of the dynamic Singapore skyline. Together, they claim the film’s narrative “Some Places You Discover, Others Draw You In.”

“As we open our doors today, we wanted to capture the special energy, warmth and magnetic draw of our METT brand for its arrival into Singapore and Asia. METT Singapore is bringing a laid-back luxury hotel experience to the city and this film reflects the spirit of connection, effortless style and the vibrant soul that defines METT, ” shared Christophe Hobeika, Sunset Hospitality Group’s Executive Director Hotels & Resorts.

Michelle Co, Creative Director, Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore, said: “To us, METT Singapore is more than a place to stay. We approached this film the way we would a luxury brand, something that evoked a feeling. In a world where advertising delves into inauthentic scenarios and CGI, we wanted to create a real moment. That meant tapping into creativity that was magnetic, memorable and effortlessly METT.”

Joshua Tan, Senior Producer, Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore, said: “To truly capture a feeling of authenticity and real world charm; we doubled-down on classic human-powered technological craft. We created custom built motorized chassis for our sunbed and pool umbrella, which were operated via three remote control units. No driving license required.”

An Instagram campaign supporting the campaign film launched just before, giving audiences a peak into the launch campaign with sightings of the sunbed and umbrella, moving through popular spots in Singapore from Tiong Bahru to Lau Pa Sat, spreading a touch of the METT’s magnetic energy.
