Bestads Best of the Week Reviewed by Roisin Keown, Founder + ECD, The Brill Building, Ireland – BLKJ Havas Singapore scores best in Interactive
Each week Bestads picks the very best advertising in the world, in every medium – which is reviewed by a top creative director or team to select their own personal favourites.
This week’s guest judge is Roisin Keown, Founder and Executive Creative Director at The Brill Building, Ireland.
Oh man, I was such a moan-bag the last time I did this I opened this week’s ‘Best’ with one eye closed. My fear? That I wouldn’t love enough of the work. But no worries. I has the envy. Fired up at how very clever some folks are.
BEST INTERACTIVE
Always my fave category – it far and away holds my fave of the week. Both winner and runner-up are advertising executed not as some passive entity but advertising as something that is actually engaging with, like, real people and that.
Winner: Brewlander ‘A.I. Responsibly’. Okay, so any case study that starts by paying its cheeky respects to the Carlton ‘It’s A Big Ad’ by those Aussie giants Ant Keogh and the lovely Grant Rutherford (‘lovely’ not least because the man once agreed to meet a gauche Rois fresh off the plane and was kind to her little portfolio) and includes a doffed cap to that other beer advertising icon The Regulars by Sydney’s Droga5 (from 2009, the same year ECD David Nobay berated me down the phone for having the audacity to think I could meet him too) has my attention.
But my God. What clever, clever bastards. (That’s Aussie for clever peeps, right?)
Smart. Audacious. Contemporary. Properly Interactive.
Winner all day. Winner all week. LOLed at the audacity. Loved it.
