LIA and GOVT VCCP launch Singapore competition offering Creative LIAisons Las Vegas places
LIA, in collaboration with GOVT VCCP Singapore, has launched the ‘On the Spot’ creative competition in Singapore. This competition, which also partners with LEGO, aims to open the doors for greater learning and mentoring for young creatives in Singapore through the Creative LIAisons Global Coaching Academy.
This is the first time such a competition is held in Singapore. ‘On the Spot’ is a real time competition that puts raw real time ideas in the spotlight. The first 30 teams to submit their interest via Google forms will be eligible to enter the live briefing and judging on 27th March 2026. The 30 eligible teams will be notified by 16th March. During the live briefing event on 27th March, the teams will have one hour to submit their ideas. The jury will select the top 10 finalist teams based on a points system.
The final round is the live judging round. Each of the 10 finalist teams will have 10 minutes to pitch their idea in front of a judging panel of 10 jurors and an auditorium of their peers.
The Gold winners (team of 2) will be awarded places to this year’s Creative LIAisons onsite programme in Las Vegas, which commences on 27th September and runs through 1st October. The Silver winners (team of 2) will be given places in the LIAisons Virtual Coaching programme that will begin from April 2026.
For more than 15 years, Creative LIAisons has brought together the world’s top creative professionals and young creatives to Las Vegas during its judging sessions to be a part of a learning academy. The onsite program, funded by LIA, brings approximately 125 young creatives from around the world for a five-day program running concurrently with our LIA judging at Encore @ Wynn Hotel Las Vegas. This exclusive and unique global educational program features seminars, panel discussions, interactive workshops, the invaluable experience to sit in on statue discussions live in the jury rooms, and a networking event with all jurors, speakers, press, LIAisons attendees and LIA guests.
Laurissa Levy, Creative LIAisons & Global Initiatives Director, said: “We are happy to collaborate with GOVT VCCP and LEGO, the brand creative partner, to give young Singapore creatives a chance to be a part of this invaluable experience. This competition allows two young Singapore creatives who are working in the industry, between the ages of 21-30 years old, the chance to win seats to the Creative LIAisons onsite programme funded by LIA, inclusive of flights and accommodation. It has always been our vision to level the playing ground for young creatives from all over the world.”
The second prize winners will win places to the Creative LIAisons Virtual Coaching programme, where they will have three one-to-one bespoke sessions with three different top creative mentors from around the world.
“Our global coaching program is very special. As someone once said, ‘Be mentored by the best to be the best.’ Every mentee gets an hour each with three different coaches, all of whom are very well respected and highly awarded. There is no prescribed programme, as the needs of each individual mentee is different. The sessions could range from idea development to craft skills or even to work and life skills. Nothing is really off the table, as long as both parties agree,” added Levy.
In talking about the idea behind “On the Spot’, Aaron Koh, Chief Creative Officer, GOVT VCCP and organizer of the competition, said: “This is not about pass or fail. We want the feedback to be a masterclass for everyone present at the event. It’s live and uncut, so there is authenticity. We don’t want any setbacks or agonizing or overthinking as it highlights the skills that truly matter in an agency and client situation – strength under pressure, thinking strategically on their feet and the ability to articulate an idea persuasively. The whole thinking behind ‘On the Spot’ is about putting creativity on the stage and witnessing its brilliance unfold before our very eyes. I would encourage every up-and-coming creative to come and see this live judging as this will definitely super charge their learning and career trajectory. We have made this a FREE event to encourage creative people, young and old to come, support and learn from this competition. You don’t need to be a participant to be a part of this mutually supportive creative community.”
The stellar judging panel will be made up of the top names and practitioners in the industry. They will give beneficial and constructive feedback on the ideas presented live.
Judges for the competition are:
1) Sai Tzy Horng, Brand Director, Julie’s Biscuits
