Awards Spotlight: TBWA Hakuhodo Tokyo’s “Smart Eye Camera” continues to make its mark

TBWA HAKUHODO Tokyo was recently awarded a Graphite Pencil at the D&AD Awards 2026, held in London, for their “Smart Eye Camera” campaign. Since launching, “Smart Eye Camera” has been a consistant award winner for the agency. Here we highlight the campaign’s success since its release. View the campaign.

Since it’s release “Smart Eye Camera” has been a consistant award winner for TBWA\Hakuhodo Tokyo. Created by client OUI, Smart Eye Camera is an attachment that allows eye examinations to be performed using a smartphone. The device converts LED light into diagnostic lights, allowing early detection of cataracts and other conditions by non-ophthalmologists around the world.

Smart Eye Camera has been introduced in approximately 60 countries and regions, with over 170,000 eye examinations conducted as of December 2025.
