Spikes Asia – Day two
Spikes Asia has a total of 69 TV/Cinema, 13 Radio and 63 Digitalentries through to the shortlist stage this year. The winners will beannounced tonight at the gala awards ceremony.
The second day ofthe Spikes Asia Festival included packed seminar sessions presented byTBWA’s worldwide creative director John Hunt and the Leo Burnett +Contagious presentation hosted by Mark Tutssel, Burnett’s chiefcreative officer. The speakers sessions at Spikes have been excellentand probably the highlight of day two was the BBC Hardtalk interviewwith Neil French (pictured above right with O&M India’s Piyush Pandey and McCann India’s Prasoon Joshi). BBC World News presenter, Mishal Husain, conductedthe fabulous session with challenging questions about his past, presentand future. French did not disappoint and even managed to drop the word”wank” into the interview much to the horror of Husain.
Theevening saw delegates doing the rounds of six Singaporean agencies whoopened their doors for the Networking After Dark event.
As forthe work to be awarded tonight be prepared to see some fairly old workgetting up for the award show tonight. Due to the move of Spikes Asiaaway from their previous April date to later in the year much of thebest work on the walls at Spikes is from Cannes two years ago (ie BBDOMalaysia’s Jeep work and Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia’s SilverfishBooks campaign).
